Birth and death entries on two sheets of paper giving much valuable detail. It is believed that these were copied from a bible which belonged to John (1788-1864) son of Lanty and Betty Rawes of Seatoller. The dates range from 1810 to 1885. The originals are in the possession of Mary Rawes of Poulton le Fylde, great granddaughter of William Thompson, a younger son of John Rawes. (Jamaica Line). Details on the envelope in which the original is kept, tells us that the entries came originally from an old bible. Page one details the deaths of John's parents Lanty and Betty and the births and deaths of their children, including John. Page two details the marriage of John Rawes and Mary his wife, and the births of their children. Reading across from page two to page three, one finds where and when some of John & Mary's children died. Page four is concerned with where their children were born. The information shows continuing contact with John's siblings and their families as, unlike the 'William Rawes' and 'unknown' bibles, it gives the dates and places of death of each of Lanty and Betty's children, including Mary in Liverpool, Robert Lancaster in London and James in Portugal.

[The following birth details are written on two sheets of lined paper representing four pages of written material. Except for page three, the entries were written at one time and in one hand. Part of page three was also written at the same time. The last entry is that of John in 1864. The others appear to have been added as and when someone died, the last being William Thompson in 1885. This suggests that the envelope and sheets date from the time of John's death in 1864.
