BIBLE OF WILLIAM & JANE BURROWS

All that remains of this bible is a title page 7in high by 4in wide, with birth details on the reverse. The original owners were William and Jane Burrows. Dinah, the daughter of William and Jane, married William Thompson Rawes of Rydal in 1858. The bible is titled: The / New Testament of our / Lord and Saviour / Jesus Christ, / Translated out of / the original Greek / and with the / former translation diligently compared / and revised / by His Majesty's Special Command. / Appointed to be read in churches. / Oxford: / Printed at the University Press. / by Samuel Collingwood and Co. / Printers to the University. / Cum Privilegio. The original is in the possession of Dinah's great granddaughter, Mary Rawes of Poulton le Fylde. (Jamaica Line).
