Branches of individuals holding or related to the name Rawes

~ INTRODUCTION ~
From the very beginning the object was to gather individuals with the surnames of Rawes, Raws, Rawse into branches and to connect them to 'The Family'. Many of these branches have over the years have been merged into ever larger branches and groupings of branches. The material relating to these branches and groupings are contained in folders with headings such as:
  • Family, those related to myself.
  • Branches, from contacts with families not, as yet, connected to my family.
  • Parish Pedigrees, pedigrees built up out of parish registers.
  • Miscellaneous, individuals or single generation families not as yet connected to other Rawes.
  • Somerset House, relating to Wills.
  • Census, individuals extracted from various Census'.
  • National Registry, individuals recorded in birth, marriage & death records.
Over the years branches (Lines) and groupings have been built up within each of the above categories followed by a miscellaneous section in each. A conclusion has been drawn in that members of the Rawes surname stem from different ancestors and are therefore unrelated.

The following catalogue is laid out in the following format: branch headings are highlighted in CAPITALS and groups of branches are highlighted in RED. A clickable Pedigree in green will appear when the group or single branch is published.

~ PEDIGREES ~
MSWord format:-
The creating of the pedigrees went through a process of being hand drawn many times and then being converted to a somewhat cumbersome, all the time being enlarged and enhanced. The format of the MSWord pedigrees follows a strict format of two pages in depth but can extend to dozens of pages in length. Only the length of the pedigree is flexible.

Example:-
Page 1:-

  • line 024 = great great great great grandfather.
  • line 043 = great great great grandfather.
  • line 064 = great great grandfather.
  • line 090 = great grandfather.
  • line 112 = grandfather.
Page 2:-

  • line 002 = father.
  • line 018 = self.
  • line 036 = son.
  • line 060 = grandson.
  • line 074 = great grandson.

The lines then follow through to the following pages and so on, always at two pages depth. The older and more adaptable (1997-2003) version of MSWord (doc) is used. Some computers may not read the pedigree as well as others, in some cases one will need to increase the 'page width' in the Word program.
