Notes:-
Muriel was Lily's sister-in-law, the wife of Frank Rawes.

The 'sender' is myself (Julian Rawes) and the letter of which Lily talks about was sent by me to Elizabeth Rawes those address I had extracted from a telephone directory. Elizabeth, first name Sarah, was a member of what is styled 'JP' Line. Elizabeth and her brother John Percy, and his wife Mary were the last members of this branch, children of John and Sarah Agnes Rawes. The 'William Rawes' bible, which contains so much family information, was in their possession. While Lily was a descendant of John, son of Lanty and Betty Rawes of Seatoller, John and Elizabeth were descended from William, the elder brother of John. It is interesting to note that the families had kept in contact, maybe due to the efforts of Annie Rawes, Lily's Aunt who was interested in the origins of the family.

The Lance of whom Lily mentions, was an elder brother of John, father of the above John Percy and Elizabeth.

I quess that I am one of the 'family tree folk'!
