Presentment, Margaret Raw, late of Tebay, breaking into cowhouse of Stephen Matthews at Lowhouse with intent. A Bill. Appeared, submitted & fined 1s.

Notes:-
The Margaret Raw mentioned in the second document is very likely to be the Margaret Rawes mentioned in the first document.

Gerard Rawes of Raisgil Hall, the then head of the family, had a sister Margaret, baptised Orton in 1721. She is thought to have married Thomas Whitbread on 1st August 1750. Perhaps after the cowhouse incident Gerard found her a husband!
