CATALOGUE OF HEICS SHIPS AND
BIOGRAPHICAL INDEX OF OFFICERS

The Catalogue of the Honourable East India Company Service Ships and Biographical Index of Officers has been published recently by the British Library. The material has been arranged in two large volumes. 1: Catalogue of East India Company Ships' Journals and Logs 1600-1834 by Anthony Farrington, 1999. The Catalogue gives a description of each ship, owners if known, voyages, captains and available ships logs and ledgers. The ships logs are records of the day-to-day events of these ships as they plied the high seas; weather patterns, ports visited, unusual occurrences and lists of ship crews and their positions and qualifications. 2: A Biographical Index of East India Company Maritime Service Officers 1660-1834 by Anthony Farrington, 1999. The Biographical Index deals with HEICS officers, gives their ranks and the ships on which they served. This is major and worthwhile publication.
