NATIONAL REGISTRY EXTRACTS

BIRTHS, MARRIAGES & DEATH
These entries were, in the most part, extracted in the 1980's, from the original Registers then housed at St. Catherine's House in London. Some have been double checked, therefore it is assumed that there will be omissions and mistakes.

To use this database material as a finding aid, additional columns were added such as to which branch individuals belonged etc. Please note that this material is not considered complete, it is only presented here as a working aid.

  1. EVENT: Birth, marriage or death.
  2. DATE: Year and quarter.
  3. SEX:
  4. FORENAME:
  5. SURNAME: The default (blank) is 'Rawes'.
  6. LINE: Individuals have been classified as 'belonging' to a particular line or branch. Many individuals have not been identified as belonging to a particular line, so in these cases generalised miscellaneous terms have been used such as 'p/p' = parish registers, s/h = Somerset House (Wills), n/r = National Registry indexes. The 'f' at the beginning of a name indicates that the 'Line' is of the family descended from William & Isabella Rawes of Wetsleddale, Shap, Westmorland, married 1736.
  7. SPOUSE: Mostly related to a marriage entry where the spouse is known.
  8. DISTRICT: Registration district.
  9. SHIRE: County or shire.
  10. REFERENCE: National Registry folio and page number.
  11. CERTIFICATE: This column can be used as a link to a page where one can examine the actual certificate.
  12. FATHER: Known or assumed father.
