Jack Rawes was born in Langdale 5th July 1863, a younger son of Richard and Elizabeth Rawes of Chapel Style. Jack was for many years the Manager of Hedge Close Quarry. He lived with his family in the Managers House. The following are photographs of the quarry believed to have been taken in 1930's. |
