Will of Elizabeth Rawes of Towne End, Crosthwaite, Kendal, Westmorland. Made 20th May 1691. Probate 20th June 1691. Kendal Record Office. (p/p)
In the name of God Amen the 20th day of May Anno Domini / 1691 I Elizabeth Rawes of Towenend in Crosthwithe in the County of Westermorland Spinster beinge sick in body yett / in perfectte and good remembrance praised be to god for the / same, Doe make this my Last Will and Testament in / manner & forme followinge. First I committe my soulle into / the hands of Almighty god my Creattor And my body to the ground / from whence it was derived. And to be buried att Crosthwithe / Church yard att the discretion of my ffriends. And as for that / Little Temporal estate I have I doe dispose And itt is my full / minde and wille as followeth, First I give Petter Rigge? my / cosen ffifteen shillings & his sister Agnes five shillings.
Ite, I give to Margrett Satterwaitt ffive shillings
Ite, I give to my coson Elizabeth Rigge fforty shillings
Ite, I give to my god Daughter Allice Rowlandson fforty shillings
Ite, I give to Mary Rowlandson my dame Two shillings six pence
Ite, I give to Mary Birkheade my dame Two shillings six pence
Ite, I give to Margrett Cossin one shilling
Ite, I give to Edward Birkheade daughters each[?] of them six pence[?]
Ite, I give to James Garner of Scalle house one shilling
Ite, I give to Jennatt Garner of Scalle house widdowe six pence
Ite, I give to Ellinge[?] Garner widdowe six pence
Lastly it is my will & minde to make Executors my two masters / Edward Birkhead & Edward Rowlandson. And to pay the said Leggettees / which I have disposed & given att and upon the second day of / ffebruary next beginninge. And to burye me Hansomly oute of / the remaines of my goods. In witness whereof I have hereunto / sett my hand & sealle the day and year above written.
