In the Name of God Amen. I Margaret Potter of Bousfield in the Parish of Orton and County of Westmorland Widdow being sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect mind & memory praised be God for the same do make and declare this my Last Will & Testament in manner following.

First and principly I recommend my soul to God hopeing through the Merits of Jesus Christ to have remission of all my Sins and my body I commit to the Ground to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors in Trust hereinafter named. As for my Temporal Estate which God hath bestowed upon me I dispose thereof as follows:

First I give and bequeath to my son George Potter the sum of five shillings in full for his part & portion of my Estate personal and real. Also I give to my son Thomas Potter the sum of five pounds. Also I give to my daughter Esther Potter the sum of five pounds in consideration of moneys & other services me done. Also I give to my brother George Troutbeck of Blenckhow in the parish of Dacre & County of Cumberland, Yeoman & John Nelson of Orton in the County of Westmorland, Yeoman all my Freehold Estate lying & being at Bousfield aforesaid to have and to hold the same to them the sd George Troutbeck & John Nelson & their assigns forever.

And also all my personal estate whatever I give to the sd George Troutbeck & John Nelson to be disposed of as herein after mentioned that is to be sold at any convenient time after my decease & the Moneys arising thereof to be disposed thereof as follows:

First for the payment of my just debts & funeral expenses and the expenses & charges of the sd George Troutbeck and John Nelson in settling and collecting the Moneys arising from the sale of the sd Estate and Goods with the Wastes thereof and the remainder & remainders thereof clear moneys. I do hereby revoke and disanul all Wills & bequests by me heretofore made declaring this to be my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of March in the Year of One Thousand Seven Hundred & Forty Five.
