This is the last Will and Testament of me Gerard / Rawes of Liverpool in the County of Lancaster Yeoman, being / of sound mind memory and understanding, but mindful / of my mortality do this twenty third day of April in the year / of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, make make / publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner / and form following. First I direct all my just debts, funeral / and testamentary expenses of proving this / my Will to be paid by my Executors after named. I give / and bequeath unto my brother Anthony Rawes the sum of one

hundred pounds. I give and bequeath unto his son William Rawes / my nephew the sum of Fifty pounds when he arrives at the age / of twenty three years. I give and bequeath unto my niece Deborah / Head the sum of Forty pounds. I give and bequeath unto my nephew / Thomas Rawes the sum of Forty pounds. I give and bequeath unto / my niece Ann Rawes the sum of Ten pounds. I give and / bequeath unto my niece Elizabeth Rawes the sum of Ten pounds / the three last named legacies to be paid when they severally arrive / at the age of Twenty three years. I give and bequeath unto my brother / William Rawes of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth the sum of Fifty / pounds, but in the event of his death before the same becomes / due, to be returned to my brother Thomas Rawes. I give and bequeath / unto my nephew William Rawes son of my brother Thomas / Rawes the sum of One Hundred pounds / when he arrives at the age of twenty five years, I give and / bequeath unto my niece Ann Smith of Liverpool the sum of / one shilling. I give and bequeath unto my niece Mary Rawes of / Liverpool the sum of one shilling. I give and bequeath unto my / sister Ann Cross of Liverpool the sum of One Hundred / pounds and if she should die before the the same should become due / my will is that it shall be equally divided among her children. I / give and bequeath unto my sister Margaret Kitchen the sum / of one shilling. I give and bequeath unto my cousin Thomas / Todd he is to have four pounds paid to him being a debt due / to him in respect to my brother Anthony Rawes and a / further sum of Five pounds. I also give and bequeath unto Mrs / Jane Scott wife of John Scott of Liverpool, Brewer the sum of / Five pounds for her care and attention to me and managing / my funeral. All the rest, residue and remainder of my real / and personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever / after payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary / expenses, and all other charges and expenses whatsoever I give / devise and bequeath unto my brother Thomas Rawes his heirs / and assigns forever. I give devise and bequeath all the Estates / vested in me upon trusts or by way of mortgage and in / which I have power to dispose of by this my will with their / appurtenences unto and to the use of the said Thomas Rawes / and Thomas Todd their heirs Executors administrators / and assigns according to the nature and quality thereof / repectively upon trust to hold or dispose of the said trust / Estates in the manner in which they ought to be held or / disposed of passing unto the said trusts and upon payment

of the money secured upon mortgage to convey or assign the / Estates in mortgage to the person or persons entitled thereto / for the time being and I declare that the money secured upon / such mortgages shall be considered and taken as part / of my personal Estate and I appoint the said Thomas / Rawes and Thomas Todd Executors of this my Will / Provided always and I do hereby declare that the receipts / of my said Executors for the time being for any money / payable to them or him under this my Will shall effectually / discharge the person or persons to whom the same shall / be respectively given from being obliged to see to the / application or from being answerable or accountable / for the misapplication or nonapplication of the money / therein respectively mentioned to be received. And I do / hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said brother / Thomas Rawes and my cousin Thomas Todd of Wreay joint / Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking / and making void all and every former and other Will / or Wills at any time before by me made and do declare this / to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I / the said Garard Rawes the testator have hereunto set and / subscribed my hand and seal the day and year first / above written - Garard Rawes [signed] signed sealed / published and declared by the testator Garard Rawes / as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us / who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have / subscribed our names as witnesses thereto the words "three" / "the sum of" and "Scott" having been previously underlined / John Bristow - J.R.Donald Clerks with Messres / Bristow & Fairclough Solrs, Liverpool - Thos: Smith.
