This is the last Will and Testament of me / John Rawes of Kendal in the County of / Westmorland, Husbandman. I give all my / personal Estate to my wife Elizabeth absolutely / and appoint her my sole Executrix. I devise / unto John Butterwith of Kendal, Grocer and / Hugh Langhorn of the same place Gentleman / and their heirs all my real Estate Upon / Trust to sell the same together or in parcels / and by private contract or public auction / and with power to give effectual receipts / discharging purchasers and others from / seeing to the application of the money / therein mentioned And to apply the income / arising from such purchase money and / also the whole or any part of the capital / thereof if they shall think fit and proper in their / sole discretion so to do towards the benefit / of my said wife during her life. And / subject to the said the same money / shall be In Trust for all and every my / Nephews and Nieces (children of my / Brothers and Sisters) living at my decease / and to be a vested interest in each of them / at my decease I empower my Trustees to / delay the sale of my real Estate until / such time or times as they shall think / expedient and in the meantime to raise / any sum or sums of money from time to / time by mortgage or mortgages a power of

And to invest any money in their hands on real or Government securities / or by way of loan to any public Company. / In witness whereof I have to this my last / Will and Testament set my hand this / fourtheenth day of April 1855.

On the twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and / fifty six this Will of John Rawes late of Kendal, in the Parish of Kendal in the / County of Westmorland within the Archdeaconry of Richmond in the Diocese of Chester / and Carlisle, Husbandman who departed this Life on the sixth day of January one / thousand eight hundred and fifty six was proved in common Form and Elizabeth / Rawes of Kendal in the Parish of Kendal, in the County of Westmorland, widow, the sole / Executrix therein named, was sworn well and faithfully to execute and perform / the same and so forth and that according to the best of the Knowledge, Information, and / Belief of the said Elizabeth Rawes the said Executrix the whole of the Goods, Chattels, / and Credits of which the said Testator John Rawes died possessed within the Dioceses / of Chester, Carlisle, and Manchester and the Archdeaconry of Richmond in the Diocese of / Ripon, (exclusive of what the said Testator might have been possessed of or entitled / to as Trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, and without
