Will & Admon of Jane Rawes of Lancaster, Lancashire. Made 20th January 1868. Proved 28th December 1871 at Lancaster. (Russell Line)
This is the last Will and Testament of me / Jane Rawes / of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster, widow. I bequeath unto my son Henry Rawes the / legacy or sum of Ten pounds. I bequeath my wearing apparel unto my granddaughter (the / daughter of my daughter Margaret Lord). I give devise bequeath all my real estate and the / residue of my personal estate unto my son George Rawes and my said daughter Margaret Lord / their heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively. As to such part thereof as shall not / belong to me beneficially Upon Trust to dispose thereof according to the equities affecting the / same And as to such part thereof as shall belong to me beneficially Upon Trust that they the said / George Rawes and Margaret Lord or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of / such survivor their his or her assigns at such time after my decease as they he or she / shall think fit sell and dispose of my real estate by public auction or private sale together / or in lots and convert and get in the residue of my personal estate and stand possessed of the / proceeds thereof Upon Trust to divide the same equally between and amongst such of my / sons the said George Rawes and John Rawes and my daughter the said Margaret Lord as / shall be living at my decease and the issue then living of such of them my said sons George / Rawes and John Rawes and my daughter Margaret Lord as shall have died in my / lifetime as being males shall attain the age of Twenty One years or being females shall / attain that age or marry distributing yet so that the issue shall participate only as / representing their deceased parents Provided Always and I hereby direct that the share / and interest of and in my residuary estate hereinafter given to my said daughter Margaret / Lord shall be paid to her sole and seperate use and her receipt alone shall be a sufficient / discharge for the payment thereof And I direct that any moneys or contingent or other shares / or share of and in my said trust property required to be invested under this my Will shall be / made in any of the public stocks or funds or government securities in the United Kingdom or / in or upon real securities in England or Wales or in or upon the debentures mortgages or securities / of any Railway Canal or other public Company incorperated by Act of Parliament and paying a / dividend or in or upon the guaranteed preference or ordinary stocks or shares of any such Company / In witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this twentieth day of January one thousand / eight hundred and sixty eight

At Lancaster the twenty eighth day of December 1871 Administration
(with the Will annexed) of the personal estate and effects of Jane
Rawes late of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster widow deceased
who died on the twenty fifth day of November 1871 at Lancaster
aforesaid was granted to George Rawes and Margaret
Lord (wife of William lord) daughter of the deceased the Residuary
Legatee in trust named in the said Will they having first sworn
the executor being named in the said Will.
