WILL
This is the last Will and Testament / of me The Reverend William Francis Rawes of / Beulah Road Tunbridge Wells, Co. Kent, Clerk. I / appoint my dear wife Henrietta Rawes and my sons William / Woodward Rawes and Francis Russell Rawes Executrix and / Executors and also trustees of this my Will I give to my dear / wife the legacy of two hundred pounds and also all my household / furnitur plate linen china wines books pictures and all goods / and effects of a like sort or kind which may be in my dwelling / house at the time of my decease for her own and absolute use / I also give and bequeath to my dear wife my freehold house and pre- / mises number 14 Cavendish Place, Eastbourne in the County of Sussex for her own and absolute use her heirs or assigns and as to / all my monies and securities for moneys and all the rest / residue and remainder of my estate property and effects whatso / ever and wheresoever and of what kind soever I give and bequeath / the same and every part thereof to my dear wife and my / sons the said William Woodward Rawes and Francis Russell Rawes / Upon Trust that my said wife and sons allow the same to / remain in their then present or existing state of investment or in / their discretion to sell call in and convert into money the same / or any part thereof and shall out of the money to arrive from such / sale calling in and conversion and the money of which I shall / be possessed at my death pay my debts funeral and testamentary / expenses and the legacy of two hundred pounds given to my said wife / and shall invest the residue of the said monies in their names / in any of the public stocks or funds of Great Britain or upon / government or real securities in England or Wales or in / preference or guaranteed shares or stock of any Corporated Railway / Company of which the works are exclusively in England or / Scotland or one of them or in shares stock or debentures of / any Railway in India guaranteed by the British or Indian / government with power for my said wife and sons to vary the / said stocks funds shares and securities at their discretion and shall / out of the income of the said trust funds pay three fifth parts / thereof respectively to my said wife during her life or widowhood / and one other fifth part to my said son William Woodward / Rawes and the remaining one fifth part to my said son Francis / Russell Rawes and upon the decease or remarriage of my said / wife then I give and bequeath the said trust stocks funds shares / and securities unto my said sons in equal proportions share and / share alike I revoke all Wills by me at any time heretofore made / and declare this alone to be my last Will and Testament In Witness / whereof I the said Testator have to this my last Will and Testament / set my hand this eighth day of November one thousand eight / hundred and sixty six - W. CODICIL
This is a Codicil to my last Will and Testament being / dated 8th November one thousand eight hundred and sixty six and / which I direct to be taken as part thereof I give power to the / Executors and trustees of my said Will to sell out monies and pay off / from my personal estate any bonds that may be due to the / trustees of our marriage Settlement at my decease and to hold or / invest any part thereof in leasehold pr copyhold or house property / at their discretion - W. F. Rawes - Signed by the said / William Francis Rawes as a codicil to his Will in our presence / who in his presence and in the presence of each other at the / same time subscribed our name as witnesses dated this twenty / sixth day of June one thousand eight hundred and seventy one / Emelia A. Proved at London with a Codicil 1st December 1871 by the oaths / of Henriatta Rawes, widow the relict, William Woodward Rawes / Esquire and The Reverend Francis Russell Rawes, Clerk the sons the / Executors named in the Will to whom Admon was granted.
