Will of Henry Rawes of Bishop Wearmouth, Durham. Made 16th March 1861. Proved 12th May 1873 at the PCY. (Innkeeper Line)
This is the last Will and Testament / of me Henry Rawes of Bishop Wearmouth in the County of Durham / Inn Keeper made the sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one / thousand eight hundred and sixty one I direct that all my just debts / funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executor herein after mentioned / I give and devise all my real estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever / and of whatever tenure or kind soever the same my be or over / which at the time of my decease I may have any disposing power unto / and to the use of my dear wife Catharine Rawes her heirs and assigns for / and during the term of her natural life or so long as she remains my / widow and from and after her decease or second marriage whichever shall / first happen I give and devise the same real estate and effects unto all and / every of the child and children living at the time of my decease in equal / shares and proportions as tenents in common and not as joint tenents their / heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath unto my said wife all my / household furniture plate linen china books pictures and all other my / Personal Estate and effects whatsoever which I may be possessed of / for and during the term of her natural life or so long as she shall remain / my widow and from and after her decease or second marriage whichever / shall first happen I give and bequeath the same household furniture / plate linen china books pictures and all other my personal estate and / effects unto and equally amongst all and every the child and children / living at the time of my decease in equal shares and proportions as tenents / in common and not as joint tenants I appoint my said wife sole / Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills by me at / any time heretofore made and do declare this to be and contain my last / Will and Testament only In witness whereof I have hereunto set my / hand the day and year first before written - Henry Rawes - Signed / by the said Testator Henry Rawes and acknowledged by him to be and / contain his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the / same time who at his request and in the presence of each / other have hereunto subscribed our name as witnesses - W. Proved at London 12th May 1873 by the oath of Catherine (in / the Will written Catharine) Rawes widow the relict the sole Executrix / to whom Admon was granted.
