ANN RAWES OF SPITTAL

Will of Ann Rawes of Spittal, Castle Sowerby, Cumberland. Made 24th February 1876. Proved 12th July 1876 at Carlisle. (Renshaw Line)
This is the Will and Testament of me Ann Rawes of Spittal / House in the parish of Castle Sowerby Co. Cumberland, Widow. I give and / bequeath unto my son William Rawes the whole of my Stock Crop Husbandry / Implements Household furniture Goods Chattels Money Securities for money and all the / rest of my personal Estate excepting that pertaining to any or all of my Coal Pits which / I give and bequeath unto my sons John Thomas and William Rawes and to my / nephew William Rawes to be equally divided amongst them. I give the whole of / my interest in the whole of the plant connected with the Coal pits to my said sons / and nephew. I appoint Joseph Wilson, Schoolmaster of Hesket Newmarket sole / Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set / my hand this twenty fourth day of February one thousand eight hundred and seventy six.

and in the presence of each other have hereunto

Proved at Carlisle the twelfth day of July 1876 by the
oath of Joseph Wilson the sole Executor named in the Will
to whom administration was granted.

The Testatrix Ann Rawes was late of Spittal House in the parish of Castle /Sowerby in the County of Cumberland, Widow and died on the third day of April / 1876 at Spittal House aforesaid.
