I Frances Rawes of Musselburgh, Nr Edinburgh at present residing in Notting Hill in the Parish of Kensington, London do hereby that this is my last Will and testament dated this eighteenth day of November eighteen hundred and sixty three I give and

Bequeath to my dear children Henry Augustus Rawes, Frances Ann Rawes and Elizabeth Blackburn Rawes to the survivor and survivors at the time of my death all the real and personal property of which I may be possessed to be divided amongst them in equal shares and as my dear child their sister Mary Isabella Rawes (in religion Sister Mary Catherine) is through weakness of mind incapable of taking care of herself or her goods I further direct that my three aforesaid children shall pay equally amongst them the sum of thirty pounds annually in half yearly or quarterly payments as may be convenient for the maintenance of their sister the aforesaid Mary Isabella Rawes whether she be in religion or in the world and I appoint my dear son the said Henry Augustus Rawes my sole executor as witness my hand this eighteenth day of November eighteen hundred and sixty three (signed) Frances Rawes. At Edinburgh the seventh day of October eighteen hundred and seventy six the following Inventory of the personal Estate of the deceased Mrs Frances Rawes, and deed relative to the disposal thereof were presented by Mr Thomas White S.S.C.

of September 1876 in presence of Louis Tennyson d’Eyncourt Esqr. one of the Magistrates of the Metropolitan Police District Appeared the Reverend Henry Augustus Rawes D.D. one of the Clergy of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Bayswater, London, Executor of the deceased Mrs Frances Rawes, sometime Residing at Musselburgh, in Scotland, thereafter at Thirty One Melville Street, Portobello in Scotland, who being solemnly Sworn and examined, depones That the said Mrs Frances Rawes died at Portobello foresaid on the seventeenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and seventy six, and the reponent has entered upon the possession and management of the deceased’s Estate as Executor nominated by her in her holograph Last Will and

Testament dated eighteenth, November eighteen hundred and sixty three, which is now exhibited and signed by the reponent and the said Magistrate of this rate as relative hereto:- That the deponent does not know of any Testamentory Settlement or other writing relative to the disposal of the deceased’s personal Estate or Effects or any part thereof other than the said Last Will and Testament: That the foregoing Inventory signed by the deponent and the said Magistrate as relative hereto is a full and complete Inventory of the personal Estate and Effects of the said deceased Mrs Frances Rawes wheresoever situated & belonging or due to her beneficially at the time of her death in so far as the same has

come to the deponent’s knowledge That the deponent does not know of any money or property belonging to the deceased liable to the duty imposed by the Acts 23 Vict. & 15 and 23 and 24 Vict. C. 80: - That the value at this date of the said personal Estate and Effects situated in Scotland, including the proceeds accrued thereon down to this rate as one thousand pound sterling, and under one thousand five hundred pounds sterling;- That Confirmation of the said personal Estate is required in favour of the reponent; All which is truth as the reponent shall answer to God:
