I Thomas Rawes of Consett, Inkeeper being of sound mind / and understanding do make this my last Will and
Testament this / fourteenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy / six I desire that all my just
debts and funeral and testamentary / expences may be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named as soon / as
conveniently may be after my decease. I give devise and bequeath / all my estate and effects of whatsoever kind
and wheresoever/ situate and I appoint all and every estate and interest of what- / soever kind in or over which I
have any power of apportionment / or disposition unto my dear wife Elizabeth Rawes for her life / and from and
after the decease of my said wife I give devise / bequeath and appoint the same estate and effects unto and /
betwixt my two sons Herbert Edward Rawes and Thomas / Colman Rawes in equal shares and proportions to be a vested
interest / in them respectively and if either of my said sons should marry / during the lifetime of my said wife
and shall die bearing a child / or children I devise bequeath and appoint the share of such of my / children so
marrying and dying amongst the children if more / than one and to the child if only one - of such of my said sons
so / marrying and dying as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath all / estates vested in me upon any trust or by
way of mortgage to my / said wife to hold upon the same trusts as I hold the same and I / appoint my wife the said
Elizabeth Rawes sole Executrix of this / my Will, hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore /
made and declaring this only to be and contain my last Will and / Testament. Witness my hand the day and year
aforesaid.
