GEORGE RAWES OF LANCASTER

Will and Admon of George Rawes of Lancaster, Lancashire. Made 19th February 1879. Proved 15th June 1882 at Lancaster. (Lord Line)
This is the last Will and Testament of me / George Rawes / of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster retired postman. I direct all my / just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid and discharged as soon / as conveniently may be after my decease. I give devise and bequeath all my / real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of whatsoever kind / or nature the same may be unto my sister Margaret the wife of William Lord of / Lancaster aforesaid, shoemaker and Thomas Hinder[?] of Lancaster aforesaid Solicitors Managing / Clerk their heirs executors administrators and assigns Upon Trust that they my / said trustees do and shall pay the income of my real and personal estate unto / my said sister Margaret Lord during the term of her natural life and from and / after her decease do and shall pay such income to my brother in law the said / William Lord during the term of his natural life and from and after the / decease of the survivor of them my said sister and brother in law Upon Trust / that they my said trustees shall apply such income for the maintenance / education and support of such of the children of my said sister Margaret until / the youngest child attains the age of twenty one years and upon the happening of / such last mentioned event I order that my said trustees do and shall / stand seised and possessed of my said real and personal estate Upon Trust to / sell and convert the same into money either by public auction or private contract as / they my said trustees shall think proper and do and shall stand possessed of the / moneys arising from such sale Upon Trust after payment of the costs and expenses / attending such sale to divide the same among all the children of my said sister / Margaret in equal shares and proportions. I order and direct that the receipts of my / said trustees for all moneys payable to them under this my Will shall be sufficient / discharges to purchasers and others paying the same and it shall not be necessary / for any person or persons paying any moneys to my said trustees to see to the / application thereof and hereby revoking all former Wills and Testamentary / dispositions made by me I declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said George Rawes the testator have hereunto set my hand / this nineteenth day of February One thousand eight hundred and seventy nine

deceased who died twenty fourth day of December 1881
at Lancaster aforesaid was granted to Margaret Lord (wife
of William Lord) sister of the deceased and the residuary
legatee for life named in the said Will she having been
first sworn to execute being named in the said Will
