GERRARD RAWS OF RAWTENSTALL

Will of Gerrard Raws of Rawtenstall, Lancashire. Made 18th May 1877. Proved 1st August 1890 Lancaster. (Shoemaker Line)
This is the last Will and Testament of me / Gerrard Raws / of Rawtenstall in the County of Lancaster Cordwainer I direct that all my just debts funeral / and testamentary expenses be paid and satisfied by my executrixes hereinafter named as soon / as conveniently may be after my decease. I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and / remainder of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever both real and personal / whether in possession or reversion remainder or expectancy unto my dear wife Margaret / Raws and my daughter Susannah Raws executrixes and administratixes Upon Trust / to permit and suffer my dear wife to have the use and enjoyment of all such parts / thereof as shall not yield income and to pay the dividends interest or annual produce / of all such other parts as shall yield income unto my said wife during the term of her / natural life and from and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the same and / every part thereof unto my daughter Susanna to be to her sole and seperate use and / benefit absolutely and free from the control of any husband And I nominate constitute / and appoint my dear wife Margaret Raws and my daughter Susannah Raws / to be executrixes of this my will and hereby revoking all my previous testamentary / instruments I declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I / the said Gerrard Raws have to this my last Will and Testament set my name the / eighteenth day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven

Signed by the said Gerrard Raws as his last Will
in the presence of us being present at the same time who at his
request in his prsence and in the presence of each other subscribe
our names as witnesses the word "her" having been first inserted
between the sixteenth and seventeenth lines of the first page

Proved at Lancaster the first day of August 1890 by
the oath of Susannah Raws Spinster daughter of the deceased
the surviving executrix named in the will to whom administration
was granted.

The Testator Gerrard Raws was late of Rawtenstall in the County of
Lancaster, Cordwainer and died on the seventh day of July 1890 at Rawtenstall
aforesaid.
