This is the last Will and Testament of me / Thomas Rawes of "Brooklyn", Stainton, Penrith in the / County of Cumberland, Gentleman. I appoint my wife / Mary Ann and my sons Isaac and Frederick Renshaw / to be Trustees and Executors of this my Will and I declare / that the words "my Trustees" herein used shall comprise / the three persons aforesaid and the survivors and survivor / of them and the Executors and Administrators of such / survivor or other the Trustees or Trustee or / Executor for the time being of this my Will. I give to my wife / the sum of Fifty pounds to be paid within one month of my / death. I give the sum of One hundred and fifty pounds / each to my sons William Rawes, Thomas Rawes and Edward / Rawes to be paid to them as soon as conveniently may be after / my decease. I bequeath unto my said Trustees my Stock / and Shares in the Warrington Corporation amounting to / about Three thousand pounds Upon Trust to sell the said / Stock and Shares and to invest the same in such investments / as the Law allows and pay the annial income thereof to my / wife during her lifetime. And after her death Upon Trust to divide / the principal as follows: To my son Thomas Fifty pounds. To / my son Edward Two hundred pounds. To my son William / Three hundred and fifty pounds. And the residue of the said / sum of three thousand pounds or thereabouts to be equally / divided amongst my said sons Isaac and Frederick / Renshaw and my son John in equal shares as Tenants in / Common. And I empower my Trustees to postpone the sale / of the said Stock and Shares if they so consider it desirable / and expedient, but if at any time prior to my decease the / said Warrington Corporation Stock is disposed of I direct / my Trustees to raise first out of my Estate and before any of / the Legacies are paid the said sum of Three thousand / pounds in substitution for the gift of the said Warrington / Corporation Stock and invest the same and distribute the / residue in the same manner as I have before directed as / regards the Sale proceeds of the said Warrington Corporation

[Sheet two:]
Stock I give to my son John the sum of One / thousand and five hundred pounds in addition to the / gift previously made to him. I devise unto my Trustees / all the houses in Wellington Street, Warrington that I may be / possessed of at my death Upon Trust for my son Frederick / Renshaw absolutely. Whereas it is my intention shortly to / to purchase a house in Penrith and if I carry out my intention / I shall expend the money which would in the event of my / death fall into my Residuary Estate and thus go to my son / Isaac as my Residuary Legatee and therefore I direct my / Trustees in the event of my purpose being carried out to / hold the same Upon Trust (or the rents and profits thereof / in case of the same being let during the life of my wife) for my / wife for her life And after her decease Upon Trust for my / said son Isaac absolutely. I direct that if at any time after / my death my wife may wish to make a home for herself my / Trustees shall permit her to take from Brooklyn what they / consider sufficient Furniture or to furnish the house suitable for her position and I / direct that on her decease all my Furniture shall fall into / my Residuary Estate and become the absolute property of my / said son Isaac And in the event of a portion of my Furniture / being taken by my wife for the purpose aforesaid I direct my / Trustees to make an Inventory therof duly signed and / acknowledged to be correct by my said wife a copy whereof / shall be delivered to my said son Isaac. All the rest residue / and remainder of my Estate of what nature or kind soever or / wheresoever invested including my Stocks and Shares in the / firm of Mackie and Company Limited. I give devise and / bequeath unto my Trustees Upon Trust after payment of / my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary expenses and the / Legacies bequeathed by this my Will Upon Trust to pay the / same to my said son Isaac absolutely And I hereby declare / that the Legacies hereby given are in addition to any sums / advanced by me to my children in my lifetime And I direct / my Trutees to deliver up any Securities I may hold to any child / or children who may have given me the same And I declare [Sheet three:]
that any Debts owing to me by my son Thomas shall be / forgiven him and I direct my Trustees to hand over to him any / Security that I my have taken from him Provided / Always that if any child of mine shall die in my lifetime / leaving a child or children who shall survive me and / being a son or sons shall attain the age of Twenty one / years or being Daughter or Daughters shall attain that / age or marry under that age then and in every such case / the last mentioned child or children shall take (and if more / than one equally between them) the share which was her or / their parent would have taken under this my Will if such / parent had survived me and attained the age of Twenty one / years And hereby revoking all my former Wills by me at any- / time heretofore made I declare this to be my last Will and / Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand / the twenty first day of October 1901.

this Will was granted at Carlisle to Mary Ann
Rawes and Frederick Renshaw Rawes two of
the Executors.
