THIS IS THE LAST WILL of me WILLIAM W00DWARD RAWES Esquire a Lieutenant Colonel on the Retired List of the Royal Artillery In case my Mother Mrs Henrietta Rawes shall survive me I appoint her sole EXECUTRIX of this my will and trustee for the purposes hereof and guardian of my dear daughter Edith Henrietta Mary Rawes during her minority but if my said Mother shall predecease me or having survived me shall decline to accept the executorship I appoint my brother The Reverend Francis Russell Rawes sole EXECUTOR of my will And if my said Mother shall predecease me or having survived me shall decline to accept the trusteeship or having survived me shall die before the trusts hereof have been fully performed I appoint my said brother trustee for the purposes hereof and guardian of my said daughter And 1 declare that the trusts powers and discretions reposed in and given to the trustee hereby appointed shall be exerciseable by the trustees or trustee for the time being hereof I give to my said daughter on her attaining the age of twenty one years or marrying under that age with the previous consent in writing of her guardian for the time being all my furniture plate linen china books pictures prints jewellery trinkets and other my household and personal chattels and effects (except money and securities for money and title deeds) for her own use absolutely and until my said daughter shall attain the age of twenty one years or marry under that age with such consent as aforesaid I direct that proper arrangements shall be made for the safe custody of the various articles hereinbefore bequeathed to her and that all expenses connected therewith be borne by my estate But notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained I empower the executor for the time being of my will to deliver to my said daughter all or any of the said Articles and to accept her receipt for the same notwithstanding she may not have attained the age of twenty one years or married under that age with such consent as aforesaid And I further empower the executor for the time being if she or he shall think it expedient to do so to sell

the said Articles or any of them And I give the money produced by ouch sale to my said daughter absolutely if and when she shall attain the age of twenty one years or marry under that age with such consent as aforesaid And I give all the residue of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever or over which I may have any disposing power to my trustee hereinbefore appointed Upon trust when and in such manner as she or he may think fit to sell call in and convert the same into money with power to defer and postpone the sale calling in and conversion for such period as she or he may determine or indefinitely and to stand possessed of the moneys to be produced by such sale calling and conversion and of which my estate may be composed at my death Upon trust to invest the some in her or his nane in or upon any of the securities or modes of investment hereinafter authorized And in case at my death my said daughter shall be under the age of twenty one years and unmarried to apply the whole or such part as she or he may think fit of the income arising from my estate and the invest­ments thereof (hereinafter called "the trust fund") in or towards the maintenance and education of my said daughter until she shall attain the age of twenty one years or marry under that age with such consent as aforesaid and to accumulate any surplus income not required for the purposes aforesaid by investing the same and the resulting income thereof in any of the securities or modes of investment hereinafter authorized so as to form an addition to the trust fund And In case my said daughter shall have attained the age of twenty one years at my death or be then married And from and after she shall attain the age of twenty one years if she ehall be under that age at my death or from and after her marriage under that age with such consent as aforesaid if she shall be under that age and unmarried at my death to pay the whole of the income arising from the trust fund to my said daughter during her life for her sole and separate use without power of anticipation And subject to the trusts aforesaid as to as well the trust fund as the income thereof for all or such one or more exclusively of the others or other of the children or more remote issue of my said daughter (such remoter issue to be born within legal limits) at such age or time or respective ages or times and subject to such trusts powers and provisions in favour or for the benefit of such children or issue as my said daughter shall by deed revocable or irrevocable or (notwithstanding she may be married) by will or codicil appoint And in default of appointment and subject to any partial appointment Upon trust for such of the children of my said daughter as shall attain the age of twenty one years or being daughters marry under that age and if more than one in equal shares Provided always that no child of my said daughter who or whose issues shall take any share of the trust fund under any appointment in pursuance of the power hereinbefore contained shall in default of appointment to the contrary have or be entitled to my share in the unappointed part without bringing his or her appointed

share into distribution and accounting for the same accordingly And I empower the trustee or trustees for the time being hereof notwithstanding any of the trusts powers and provisions hereinbefore contained to raise any part not exceeding one half of the vested or contingent share of my said daughter or of any child of my said daughter under this my will and pay or apply the same for her or his advance­ment In life or otherwise for her or his benefit as the said trustee or trustees may think fit including as regards my said daughter the expenses of a trouasseau on the occasion of her marriage And I empower my said daughter by her will or any codicil theroto (notwithstanding her marriage) to appoint in favor of any husband who may survive her (provided being under the age of twenty one years at the time of her marriage she shall have married with such consent an aforesaid) for his life or for any less period the whole or any part of the income arising from the trust fund And subject to the trusts powers and provisions aforesaid I give the trust fund and the income thereof to my said mother absolutely if she shall be living when the trusts powers and provisions aforesaid shall fail but if she shall then be dead then to my said brother if he shall be living when the said trusts powers and provisions aforesaid shall fail but if he shall then be dead to such of his children so shall be living when the said trusts powers and provisions shall fail and shall attain the age of twenty one years or being daughters marry under that age and if more than one in equal shares And I declare that the following shall be the securities or modes of investment in or on which any moneys for the time being held under the trusts of this my will may from time to time be invested and that the said trustee or trustees may vary and transpose the same into or for any other or others of a like nature as may be thought expedient The public stocks or funds of Great Britain Bank or East India Stock Any loan of the East Indian Government or charged on the Revenues of India the Inscribed stock or bonds of any Colonial Govern­ment or of any dependency of Great Britain Metropolitan (Board of Works) stock stock or bonds of any municipal corporation or of any town city or borough In England or Wales bonds or other securities issued under the Authority of the Local Loans Act ­1875 Mortgages of freeholds copyholds or leaseholds in England or Wales the leaseholds having sixty years at least unexpired at the time of investment debentures or debenture stock or mortgages or bonds or guaranteed or preference shares or stock of any railway or other company in the United Kingdom which at the time of investment is paying and for three yearo at least prior thereto has paid a dividend or profit on its ordinary shares or capital stock. The ordinary shares or stock of any railway or other company in India or in any Colony or Dependency of Great Britain a minimum rate of dividend or interest on which is guaranteed by the Indian or Colonial Governmwnt or of the dependency Provided lastly And I hereby declare and direct that in

case my said daughter whether before or after she shall have attained the age of twenty one years shall marry a man standing towards her in the blood relationship of a first cousin (whether she shall marry with such consent as aforesaid or not) then and immediately thereupon she shall ipso facto forfeit all right title and interest under this my will (without prejudice to any benefit she may have then already received under the specific bequest or under any of the Powers of advancement or otherwise hereinbefore contained) and my said will shall be read and construed in all respects as if my said daughter had died immediately before she contracted such marriage AS WITNESS my hand this nineteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and eighty six - W W RAWES -

THIS IS A CODICIL to the will dated the nineteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and eighty six of me WILLIAM WOODWARD RAWES a Leiutenant Colonel on the Retired List of the Royal Artillery In case my mother Mrs Henrietta Rawes shall predecease me or having survived me shall decline to act in the executorship and trusteeship of my will or in either of those capacities I appoint James Arthur Dawes of 9 Angel Court Throgmorton Street London to be an EXECUTOR and trustee of my will jointly with my brother The Reverend Francis Russell Rawes or if my said brother shall predecease me or having survived me shall decline to act in both or in either of those capacities then I appoint the said James Arthur Dawes to act solely in both or either capacity as the case may be And I declare that the powers and discretions by my said will given to the trustees thereby appointed shall be vested in and exerciseable by the said James Arthur Dawes And I give to each of them my said brother and the said James Arthur Dawes who shall act as executor and trustee or in either capacity the sum of one hundred pounds as an acknowledgment of his trouble in so acting And I declare that the said James Arthur Dawes may notwithstanding he is hereby appointed an executor and trustee of my will act either himself or by his firm as Solicitor in the executorship and trusteeship and shall be entitled to charge and be paid all usual and proper professional charges for business so transacted Dated this seventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and ninety five - W W RAWES Lt Col:

THIS IS A CODICIL to the will dated the nineteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and eighty six of me WILLIAM WOODWARD RAWES

a Lieutenant Colonel on the retired list of the Royal Artillery I desire to be buried in Kensal Green Cemetery in the plot No 36082 which I have recently purchased and that the monument to be set up over my grave may consist of a plain red Granite Cross (with a flower bed) similar to that on the grave No 35978 which is opposite to the plot in which I desire to be buried AS WITNESS my hand this thirtieth day of July one thousand eight hundred and ninety six - W W RAWES -
