In the name of God Amen the third day of April Anno Dni 1628 I William Darbye of Fawcett Forrest
within the parish of Kirkbie Kendall sicke in bodie yet of good & pfect rememberance thanks be unto Almightie God doe
make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following. / Firste and principally I bequeath my soule
unto the hands of Almightie God fully trusting through the death & passion of Jesus Christe his onely Sonne & my alone Saviour
and Redeemer to have remission of all my sinnes And my Bodie I Committ to the Earth from whence It came
willing that the same be buryed in my parish Churchyard of Kirkby Kendall aforesaid. Item It is my Will and I doe
give and bequeath my Tenemts whereupon I now dwell with apputenances unto Thomas Lancaster Robert Lancaster
and Ann Lancaster late Children of Thomas Lancaster of Kendall deceased and to their heires & assignes for
ever equally to be divided amongst them they paying foorth of the said Tenemts such debts and legacies as
I owe or doe bequeathe by this my Will. Item I give unto Elizabeth Starr ffortie Shillings and the litle
house during her life with all the household stuffe in it and Peatemosse in the fforrest. Item I give unto Michaell
Holme iijs iiijd Item I give unto Thomas Sleddall one Peatecoate & Peatemosse in the Valte dureing his
lyfe. Executors of this my last Will and Testament I make my nephew Thomas Lancaster. / Supervisors hereof

NOTES:
- The relationship between William Darbye and the Elizabeth Darbye who married Robert Rawes of Fawcett Forrest is at present not known but it is assumed they were closely related, possibly siblings.
- Richard Rawes mentioned in this Will as owing William Darbye £16, is probably the Richard Rawes, son of Robert Rawes of Fawcett Forrest, see Will W221.
- A possibly relative is Roger Darbye, Serviceman to George Salkeld, buried at Shap on 14th August 1580.
